After an evening dancing barefoot to celtic music on a beer covered floor in Toronto's east end, Jo-Anne and Vanessa's friendship was sealed. They have been friends and shooting together for over 10 years.
Vanessa studied fine art photography at the Ontario College of Art and Design, practicing her art in Florence, Italy, for a year before settling in Toronto with her full time careers as mother, photographer and designer.
Jo-Anne trained extensively with other photographers and completed an internship at Magnum Photos in the UK in 2000. She has since worked full time as a documentary photographer in Toronto and abroad. She also works as an animal defender through her documentary project We Animals, which is being featured in the upcoming Canadian documentary The Ghosts In Our Machine.
Jo-Anne and Vanessa bring unique and complementary skills to the business which is what makes our style so unique and what makes our clients enjoy working with us so much. We love the fun and the challenge of creating personal and beautiful artwork out of everything we document. We also love placing bets on how many people at each shoot will ask us if we are sisters. Yes...we look a lot alike.
2010 and 2011 were very busy years for our business, so we are thrilled to introduce a new photographer to our team, Lesley Marino. We have also known and worked with Lesley for many years now and, like us, she is crazy in love with the rush of taking amazing pictures.
Aside from photography, we are all very curious about the world, we adore travelling, we don't eat animals, and we love to laugh – a lot.
